Tattered Beans is a veteran-owned coffee company whose bad-ass blends give back directly to veterans. We import our beans, just like other coffee companies, but our beans are roasted and packaged with intent to give back and make a difference.
I'M A VETERAN, HOW DO I GET LISTED?
Great question! Here is how you get listed as one of the Veterans people can pick from. STEP 1: You must have been honorably discharged. STEP 2: Go to our register page and complete the registration form and setup your PROMO CODE. STEP 3: Generally within 24 hours of you signing up, your PROMO CODE will be posted on the main site, Tattered Beans. STEP 4: Tell anyone and everyone to use your PROMO CODE and buy coffee. STEP 5: You will receive your portion of proceeds monthly, along with a breakdown of purchases made under your profile.
HOW DO I BUY THE COFFEE?
STEP 1: Choose the roast you want. STEP 2: During checkout, input the promo code of the veteran or organization you would like to support. STEP 3: Pat yourself on the back for doing something really awesome!
WHY DO YOU GIVE BACK TO VETERANS, ACTIVE DUTY AND FIRST RESPONDERS?
Having a veteran owner has given Tattered Beans the unique insight to see what hardships await our military when they return home. We found an opportunity to take something that people use every single day and turn it into a new way to assist our homeland heroes.
WHO SHIPS TATTERED BEANS?
We support our federal government and rock with USPS. However, if we need to use FedEx or UPS, we will. Tattered Beans does offer flat rate shipping on most of our orders, but that is all subject to destination, weight, and carrier rates. We are not responsible for carrier weight changes or restriction changes.
TRACKING MY ORDER?
You will receive your tracking information through the email you used when you placed your order. You can continue using this number to see where your package is during the delivery process.
WHAT IS THE COST TO SHIP YOUR COFFEE?
Tattered Beans does offer flat rate shipping on most of our orders. However, weight, destination, and carrier effect shipping price, so we do not quote generally. You can find out your specific order’s shipping costs by adding items to your cart and selecting your shipping speed.

WILL YOU SHIP TO A MILITARY APO ADDRESS?
HELL YEAH WE WILL!.All shipping rates will apply to the APO facility's zip code in the United States. You will need to enter the country (United States), the city as APO or FPO, the state as Armed Forces Europe (AE), Armed Forces Pacific (AP), or Armed Forces America (AA), and the APO zip code, all this information is a must to make give the package the best chance for delivery. The tracking information only tells you when the facility has received the package. Beyond that it’s up to our awesome men and women who deliver the military mail.
CHANGING MY ORDER AFTER I PLACED IT?
We strongly suggest sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to request a change. We will do our best to accommodate your request, but we make no guarantee. When you send your email, please include your name, order number, and phone number for the fastest response. We DO NOT operate a 24-hour customer service. Any correspondence after 5pm EST will be handled the following business day.
AM I ABLE TO RETURN AN ITEM OR GET A REFUND?
For apparel and accessories, you can return an item up to 30 days from the date of purchase for online store credit, a refund, or a replacement. Should there be damage during shipping that has caused you to be concerned to consume the coffee you ordered, you can return it for the same or similar coffee of equal value. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, Diners Club debit and credit cards, PayPal, and Apple Pay.
WHY DON’T YOU HAVE A COFFEE SUBSCRIPTION OPTION?
Here at Tattered Beans, we feel that our customers would benefit from a higher quality coffee delivered at their request versus a bulk order made and shipped when you might not even need it yet. This reduces waste and keeps customer satisfaction high, which ultimately leads to higher returns to our veterans.
WHY DON’T YOU HAVE PODS?
Due to the number of complaints from our customers that their certain pod coffee dispenser wouldn't work with our Pods, we discontinued them until further notice.
IS TATTERED BEANS SOLD IN STORES?
Tattered Beans is currently available online only. We do this to ensure that we give back as much as possible to our veterans.
IS IT SAFE TO ORDER ONLINE?
Though we use what we would consider the safest payment forms, criminals will always be criminals. We do not store any of your payment information. You can read both PayPal and Shopifies security protocols
STORING MY TATTERED BEANS?
Humidity is kryptonite to coffee! We recommend using airtight containers and storing in a dark, dry place to keep flavor at its peak.
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
If stored correctly, you can easily enjoy your favorite Tattered Beans blend for up to four weeks. Make sure you reorder before your airtight container is empty!
USING A DISCOUNT CODE?
At check out, you will see a box for your discount code prior to completing your order. You’ll also be able to see your discount code applied to your total order when reviewing said order prior to clicking, “Complete Purchase”.
